Free English Interpretation when you contact the studios

Remember that when you contact these studios, if no one there speaks English, you can call a service called the BBB (Before Babel Brigade), and they'll contact the studio on 3-way and interpret for you. Their number is 1588-5644, and their site is http://bbbkorea.org.

MH (Music House) Studio - Myeonghak Station (명학역, line 1)

Music House Studio (뮤직하우스) is located out of exit 2 of Myeonghak Station (명학역, line 1).

There are 2 band rehearsal rooms (A room and B room) that cost 12,000 won/hr. There is also a vocal practice room, drum practice room, guitar practice room, and a dance practice room, which are 5,000 won/hr. You can also make a deal with them where you pay a monthly fee and figure out some sort of schedule.

A room has:

JM Drum & Guitar Music School - Omokgyo Station (오목교역, line 5)

JM 드럼기타음악학원 (Drum & Guitar Music School) is located out of exit 8 of Omokgyo Station (오목교역, line 5) and is open 11 am-11 pm. This school offers lessons for drums, guitar, bass and jazz piano, or you can practice by yourself in one of the practice spaces.

Oh Rock Go Rock - Children's Grand Park/Konkuk Univ. Stations (어린이대공원역/건대입구역, lines 2 and 7)

Oh Rock Go Rock is located either out exit 4 of Children's Grand Park Station (어린이대공원역, line 7) or exit 3 of Konkuk University Station (건대입구역, lines 2 and 7). They're open weekdays 10 am-midnight and weekends 9 am-11:30 pm.

You can choose from the A Room, which costs between 10,000-15,000 won/hr depending on what time of day it is (evening hours are more expensive). In this room they have:
- guitar amps: JCM2000 DSL100 1960AC Cabinet, MARSHALL 8100
- bass amp: Ampeg BA-500
- drums: YAMAHA rock tour custom
- keyboard: Yamaha MOTIF7

Match Studio is located out of exit 4 of Yeoksam Station (역삼역, line 2). Aside from renting rehearsal rooms, you can also take lessons from quite a large, talented staff they have. They're open weekdays noon-11 pm, Saturdays noon-7 pm, and closed on Sundays.

Jaengi Music Studio - Seoul National Univ. of Ed. Station (교대역, lines 2 and 3)

Jaengi Music Studio (쟁이 뮤직 스튜디오) is located out of exit 14 of Seoul National University of Education Station (aka 교대역 where lines 2 and 3 meet). When you come out of the exit, make a u-turn and take your first left. You'll see a Buy the Way convenience store a little ways down that alley. Go past it, and on your left you'll see a 시에프 fried chicken restaurant. Turn left at the next alley, and you'll see the sign for 쟁이 Studio halfway down the alley on your right.

The old man who runs the place is super cool, and just sits in the back room and watches a lot of TV. The now-defunct expat band The 40 Days used to practice here, which is how I found out about this place (from my friend who used to play bass with them), so the owner is used to dealing with foreigners.

We paid 24,000 won for 2 hours.
