Where you can find comprehensive practice space listings

Hi, everyone! Now that I live in NYC and see that people are still using this site, I'd like to share a little secret with you: http://www.mule.co.kr/. This site has quite a comprehensive list of practice spaces in Korea (not just Seoul).

If you need help navigating the page:

Towards the top of the page, you'll see the navy bar that spans the width of the page. On the second row, you'll see where it says "정보," which means "information" in Korean. Click on the second group of words next to that that says "합주(연습)실정보," which means "practice space information."

In the gray bar almost halfway down the page, you'll see two drop-down menus. Choose "서울" for "Seoul" or whichever city/province you live in. The drop-down menu to the right of that will have the different 구s ("districts") to choose from.

Or... I prefer to scroll down to the bottom of the page where you'll see more drop-down menus. Those let you narrow it down to the 동s (neighborhoods).

All the listings you see that populate the first half of the page in bold are sponsored listings and don't necessarily reflect your search.

Ok, happy music writing and performing! And, of course, feel free to keep posting questions if you feel the need to. My gmail will ping me so I'll be able to answer.

XOXO
Sara

  1. Hey Sara!
Do you know of any practice rooms in Seoul that are simple, with just keyboard and soundproofed?

I'm actually looking for a place where I can record myself. I have my own guitar and mic and equipment.
    Thank you!!

    1. Hi! Yes, here is a practice space with an upright piano: http://www.mule.co.kr/information/4/bbscontent.aspx?idx=4471717&page=1&sort=23&searchword=%EA%B0%95%EB%B3%80%EC%97%AD&searchregion=1. The address says Seoul Gwangjin-gu Guui 2-dong. It's a 3-minute walk from Achasan Station exit 2, or you can take a maeul bus from Gangbyeon Station. This space is 24 hours, but please call after 10 am to make an appointment. They also offer monthly rates if you're interested. You can contact them at 010-5022-1124 / 010-6327-1698.

    2. Here's another one that's 1-minute walking distance to Gangbyeon Station that also has an upright piano: http://www.mule.co.kr/information/4/bbscontent.aspx?idx=3183455&page=1&sort=23&searchword=%EA%B0%95%EB%B3%80%EC%97%AD&searchregion=1. It doesn't say the address, just that it's 100,000 won/month if you're interested in monthly rent. They also have Wi-Fi and a printer, and if you're interested, keyboards, guitar, and amps. You can call them at 010-7540-1379.

There is a piano practice place called "With Piano" with branches in Anyang, Hongdae, Bupyeong, Bundang, Suwon and Hyehwa. It costs 150.000 per month and it is open 12 pm-11 pm and they provide free coffee and drinks and with a membership card you can use all the branches.I am a member in Anyang but sometimes visit the other places as well. I highly recommend going there.

I have pasted a website with a map to the place in Hyehwa.I hope you will try it out.

  6. Hi Sara, I just moved to South Korea, Incheon Songdo, recently. This area is still pretty new and developing a lot. I know not much will be around this area, but I am willing to venture somewhere further out to practice playing guitar. Are there any places where I can just go and practice with a guitar without having to ultimately buy one?

  8. Hey Sarah!
I just tried using the link you posted to find a practice room in Seoul (preferably Bundang, Seongnam, Seoul) but with that site being in all Korean and no English button on the page, I can't find a room near me. Something near Jeongja, Migeum, or Ori stations. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    1. Hi, here's one not exactly in Myeongdong, but not far in Sindang-dong: http://www.mule.co.kr/information/4/bbscontent.aspx?idx=5670194&page=1&sort=23&searchword=&searchregion=1. It says the space is available 24 hours and looks like there's a grand piano. Looks like you'll have to call to find the exact address: 0508-5192-4873. Good luck!
